For Croats who are ready to return to Croatia from Ireland and other EU countries and open their business, the government is ready to offer an incentive for self employment of HRK 150,000 (19,900 euros), and another HRK 50,000 (6652 euros) to return.

Those who want to move their business within the country from more developed to less developed areas are offered with an amount for self employment and an additional HRK 25,000 for relocation.
This is the measure "I choose Croatia", details of which were learned by Jutarnji List ahead of its publication at a cabinet meeting Thursday. These incentives should be able to be used from 1 January next year.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković made a statement to the public after chairing a cabinet meeting with prefects, representatives of the Association of Cities in the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Community of Municipalities.
"One of the key topics that we discussed, we can say the existential theme of the Croatian people, is the issue of demographics and politics towards young people.
"State Secretary Zeljka Josić presented all activities related to various rights, incentives, tax policy, employment, solving youth housing issues, combined with what minister Aladrovic presented in principle, which is a new package of employment measures in 2022," he said.
"This is where we will also put emphasis for the first time on those of our citizens who have taken advantage of freedom of movement and in the recent period went perhaps to one of the EU member states and with one very high quality and attractive package of self employment funds, plus an incentive for additional funds for those who want to return to Croatia.
So we will try to make this trend, which we have always considered reversible, more dynamic now very generous packages that will be presented on the government, and then decisions will be made by the Croatian Employment Service," Plenkovic said. ■
