Darren Guccione’s biography makes him a perfect choice for a CEO of some investing fund: Mr. Guccione is a certified public accountant from Illinois, USA, he earned his Masters of Science in Accountancy with Distinction, and he served at positions related to mergers & acquisitions, income tax strategy and as Chief Financial Officer at Apollo Solutions.
However, Mr. Guccione decide to create and an emerging technology company where he is a president, CEO and co-inventor. And that turned out to be a very good move.
Callpod company makes some very interesting products, and Dragon headphones are probable the most interesting among them. Dragon Bluetooth headset works with class-1 Bluetooth device, such as your brand new mobile phone or PDA. Headset has 100 mW of power which means they will work when 100 meters away from your mobile phone! (For our American friends, that’s over 328 feet).
Dragon are nicely designed with two buttons and 25.5 g of weight (0.9 oz) and that make that headset good enough for use all day long. Dragon is packed with some interesting technologies: It is possible to connect the headset with a PC for Skype calls and it is even possible to switch them into walkie-talkie mode when up to five Dragons communicate with each other.
After three hours of charging, you’ll ready to speak for eight hours or keep Dragon on stand-by for 300 hours. Very welcome technology is “Dual microphone noise suppression” that will eliminate all noises from the background so the ears of the other side will enjoy in your clear voice.
And what if you don’t have Class-1 Bluetooth device? No worries, Dragon will work with older devices and it will extend their operating range, which is nine meters, by a factor of 2 to 3. In walkie-talkie mode the headset will use all 100 meters in every direction and in ideal environment it will stay connected to your phone at the distance of 130 meters.
Are there any drawbacks? Yes. It is easy to put a Dragon on you ear and go to work not realizing that you left a phone in a living room. And then you must go back. So, Dragon may increase your spending for gas, but we think it’s worth it. ■
