ANZ: Graham Hodges acting chief executive

Melbourne, Australia - May 4, 2009, Melbourne, Australia - The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group has appointed Graham Hodges as acting chief executive of its Australia division after the departure of Brian Hartzer from the bank.

Mr. Hodges has a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from Monash University. Mr. Hodges held the positions of Group Managing Director, ANZ Corporate Division; Managing Director Small to Medium Business; and Head of Corporate Banking Australia and New Zealand. Graham joined ANZ in 1991 and was appointed Chief Economist in 1992, a post he held for three years. Before ANZ, Mr. Hodges spent several years with the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC and nine years in Commonwealth Treasury in Canbe
