Duke Energy appoints Robert Davis to board

Charlotte, N.C., USA - Duke Energy, an electric power holding company, appoints Robert Davis, CFO and EVP of global services at healthcare company Merck & Co., as a new board member, effective January 8, 2018.

Mr. Davis will serve on two Duke Energy board committees: audit, and finance and risk management.

Mr. Davis joined Merck in 2014.

Prior to Merck, Mr. Davis worked for Baxter, International Inc., where he served as the company's corporate vice president and president of Medical Products from 2010 through 2014.

Prior to that position, he served as corporate vice president and president of Baxter's renal business.

Mr. Davis served as Baxter's corporate vice president and chief financial officer from 2006 through 2010, and the company's treasurer from 2004 through 2006.

Prior to joining Baxter, he worked at Eli Lilly and Co., where he held numerous positions of increasing responsibility over 14 years.

He has served on the board of directors for C.R. Bard, Inc., since 2015, and is a member of its finance, audit, and science and technology committees.

Mr. Davis previously served on the board of trustees for Rush University Medical Center, and as a member of its finance committee from 2006 through 2014.

He was a member of the board of directors of AdvaMed from 2010 through 2014, and a member of the board of the Baxter International Foundation from 2006 through 2014.
