Eduardo A. Sahagun new chief executive officer of Holcim Philippines

Taguig City, Philippines - September 11, 2012, Taguig City, Philippines - Holcim Philippines, a supplier of cement and aggregates, announced the appointment of Eduardo A. Sahagun as chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2013.

Mr. Sahagun brings with him 33 years of experience in the cement industry, holding a number of positions in Audit, Treasury and Controlling in the PHINMA Group before he was appointed Chief Finance Officer for Holcim Philippines in 2002. He assumed his current post of Seniov Vice Presiden - Commercial in 2007.

Mr. Sahagun holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, with an MBA from the Ateneo Graduate School, and a Masters in Management Science from the Arthur D. Little School of Management in Boston (now Hult International Business School) where he was a consistent Dean’s Lister.

The company also announced that the current president Magdaleno B. Albarracin, Jr. and chief operating officer Roland van Wijnen will be resigning their posts on December 31, 2012 and January 31, 2013, respectively.

Before Holcim, Mr. Albarracin has been Senior Executive Vice President of Bacnotan Consolidated Industries (Phinma Corporation) since 1998. He joined Phinma Group in 1971 as a Consultant and served in various executive posts in Phinma-managed companies. He has been a Director of Trans-asia Oil And Energy Development, a Director of Bacnotan Consolidated Industries, and a Director of Holcim Philippines since 1984. He also serves as a Director of AB Capital Group and Investment Corporation.

Mr. Albarracin served as Dean of the College of Business Administration at the University of the Philippines from 1981 to 1986. He has a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from the University of the Philippines and a Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. He obtained his Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of the Philippines and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the Harvard University.

Mr. van Wijnen has been Chief Operating Officer of Holcim Philippines since May 4, 2010. He served as the Chief Executive Officer at Holcim Slovensko a.s, eha was also the Country Manager for Holcim North Danube, and previously he worked as external consultant for Maintenance Cement in Ulco, South Africa and then became Global Project Manager and Assistant Vice President for Corporate Finance and Controlling at the Holcim Group.
