PNB president goes on indefinite sick leave

Manila, Philippines - July 17, 2012, Manila, Philippines - Philippine National Bank (PNB) announced that its president and chief executive officer Carlos A. Pedrosa will go on an indefinite sick leave.

Mr. Pedrosa has been the Vice Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of Philippine National Bank since August 1, 2011. Mr. Pedrosa serves as the President of Peace, White Sands and Philippine Eagle Foundation.

Mr. Pedrosa has more than 30 years of experience in banking business. He served as Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of Prime Media Holdings (previously First E-bank Corp.) from January 2000 to December 2003. He served as Partner of BFE Financial Services, as CEO and President of Pilipinas Bank from 1993 to 1997. He also served as Executive Vice President of the Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company.

Mr. Pedrosa serves as the Chairman of Asia Speedy Printing Centers and Charles Redstone. He has been an Independent Director of Philippine National Bank since May 2010. He served as a Director of Metropolitan Bank & Trust, as Director of United Coconut Planters Bank, and as Independent Director of PLDT Communications and Energy Ventures.
