Nokia: Vivek Badrinath steps down from board of directors

Espoo, Finland - August 1, 2016, Espoo, Finland - Nokia announced that Vivek Badrinath has informed that he will step down from the Nokia board of directors, effective July 29, 2016.

Mr. Badrinath stepped down due to his appointment as Chief Executive for Vodafone's Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific region.
Mr. Badrinath has been Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Marketing, Digital Media Distribution and Information Systems at Accor S.A. since March 1, 2014.
Mr. Badrinath served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Innovation, Technology and Customer Experience Resources at Orange from May 1, 2013 to March 1, 2014.
He served as an Executive Vice President of Products Technology & Innovation at Orange Holding S.A. from December 2004 to March 1, 2014.
He served as Senior Executive Vice President of Enterprise Communications Services at Orange since April 6, 2010 and served as its Senior Executive Vice President of Orange Business Services, Enterprise Line of Business.
He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Orange Business Services at Orange from April 2010 to May 1, 2013. He served as Executive Vice President of Enterprise Communication Service at Orange.
He served as an Executive Vice President of Networks and Operators Division at Orangesince 2009 and served as its Executive Officer of Networks and carriers.
Prior to re-joining Orange in April 2004 as Chief Technical Officer/Technical Director, Mr. Badrinath served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Indian subsidiary of consumer electronics company Thomson.
He joined Orange in 1996, just as France opened up its telecommunications market to competition. During his time at FT, he gained a wide experience in interconnect issues and in network planning and design. He has been a Director of Nokia Corporation since June 17, 2014.
He serves as a Director of Mauritius Telecom Limited. He served as an Executive Director of Orange Business Services from April 2010 to April 2012. He served as a Member of Supervisory Board at Orange Polska Spolka Akcyjna from September 21, 2006 to April 22, 2010.
Mr. Badrinath started his career in 1992 at the French Ministry of Industry, following a degree in engineering in France and a brief period in research. ■
