Telkom appoints chairman, managing director of Telkom Mobile

Pretoria, South Africa - Telkom SA, a communications company, announced the appointment of Attila Vitai as managing director of Telkom Mobile, effective November 14, 2012.

Mr. Vitai brings a wealth of experience with a successful twenty year track record of senior management in the telecoms industry.

This has included twelve years at Motorola as a Vice President in Europe and eight years as CEO of two large Vodafone businesses in Hungary and Turkey, in both instances as a challenger in demanding developing markets.

Mr. Vitai holds an MBA which he obtained from the Henley Business School at the University of Reading.

Mr. Vitai is also a qualified chartered accountant had has obtained qualifications in BA Accounting and Finance as well as certified general accounting.

The company also announced that Jabulane Albert Mabuza has been appointed as chairman of Telkom.

Mr. Mabuza was appointed as director of Telkom on November 14, 2012.

He previously served an MD of Southern Sun Gaming, CEO of Tsogo Sun and has served as a Chairman of the Board of South African Tourism.

Currently, Mr. Mabuza is the Deputy Chairman of Tsogo Sun Holdings and the President of the Business Unity South Africa (BUSA).

He also serves on the boards of ACE Insurance Ltd, Eglin Investments No. 44, Hydrop Investments Limited, Kuncedzana Investments Holdings, and Lexshell 627 Investments.
