Kirkland, Wa., USA - September 30, 2010, Kirkland, Wa., USA - Clearwire Corporation, a provider of wireless broadband services, announced that Daniel R. Hesse, Keith O. Cowan, and Steven L. Elfman have resigned from the board of directors.

Mr. Hesse has served as a director of Clearwire since November 2008. He has served as Chief Executive Officer, President and Director of Sprint Nextel Corporation since December 2007.
Mr. Hesse served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Embarq Corporation from May 2006 to December 2007. He served as President of Sprint’s local telecommunications business from June 2005 to May 2006.
Mr. Hesse served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Terabeam Corporation, a Seattle-based communications company, from March 2000 to June 2004. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of AT&T Wireless Services, a division of AT&T, from 1997 to 2000.
Mr. Cowan has served as a director of Clearwire since November 2008. He has served as President – Strategic Planning and Corporate Initiatives of Sprint Nextel Corporation since July 2007. Before joining Sprint, Mr. Cowan served as Executive Vice President of Genuine Parts Company, a service organization engaged in the distribution of automotive replacement parts, industrial replacement parts, office products and electrical andelectronic materials, from January 2007 until July 2007.
Previously, Mr. Cowan served in various positions at BellSouth Corporation from May 1996 until January 2007. Those positions included: Chief Field Operations Officer (2006); President, Marketing and Product Management (2005); President, Interconnection Services (2004); Chief Planning and Development Officer (2001 - 2003); and Vice President, Corporate Development (1996 - 2000).
Before joining BellSouth Corporation, Mr. Cowan was a partner at the law firm of Alston & Bird in Atlanta.
Mr. Elfman is president of network operations and wholesale at Sprint Nextel Corporation, with responsibility for technology and product development, the combined network and IT operations, wholesale operations and sprint.com.
Mr. Elfman joined the Sprint senior leadership team in May 2008 from mobile data technology services company Motricity (formerly Infospace Mobile), where he was executive vice president of Infospace Mobile, then president and chief operating officer of Motricity.
Mr. Elfman also has held leadership positions at Terabeam, as executive vice president of operations, and AT&T Wireless, where he was chief information officer. A proven leader and innovator in wireless technology, Mr. Elfman has a wealth of expertise in wireless applications and Internet business models. ■
