Tokyo, Japan - January 23, 2014, Tokyo, Japan - Tokyo Gas Co. announced that its director and chairman of the board Mitsunori Torihara will resign from the board in June 2014 and become senior corporate advisor.

Mr. Torihara joined the company in 1967. He served as Representative Director, Executive Vice President, Chief Executive of Strategic Planning Division and was in charge of Internal Audit Department and Compliance Department.
Mr. Torihara was also Representative Director, Executive Vice President, Chief Executive of Corporate Communication Division and in charge of Compliance Department; and he served as President, Representative Director, and Executive President before being named Chairman of the Board.
The company also announced that Representative Director and President Tsuyoshi Okamoto has been named Director and Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Okamoto joined the company in 1970. He served as Director, Senior Executive Officer, Chief Executive of Corporate Communication Division and in charge of Compliance Department, Internal Audit Department.
Mr. Okamoto was also Representative Director, Executive Vice President, and in charge of Personnel Department, Secretary Department, General Administration Department, Compliance Department, and Internal Audit Department.
Mr. Okamoto also served as Representative Director, Executive Vice President, and in charge of Personnel Department, Secretary Department, General Administration Department, and Compliance Department, before being name Representative Director and President.
The company also announced that Representative Director and Executive Vice President Michiaki Hirose has been promoted to Representative Director, President .
Mr. Hirose joined the company in 1974. He served as Senior Executive Officer and in charge of Corporate Planning Department, Investor Relations Department, Finance & Managerial Accounting Dept, Accounting Department, Affiliated Companies Department, and Gas Industry Privatization Research Project Department.
Mr. Hirose was also Senior Executive Officer and in charge of Corporate Planning Department and Affiliated Companies Department; Director, Senior Executive Officer and in charge of Corporate Planning Department, Corporate Communications Department, and Affiliated Companies Department; and Director, In charge of Corporate Planning Department, Project Management Department, Corporate Communication Department, and Affiliated Companies Department. ■
