Nissan chief performance officer Jose Muñoz resigns

Tokyo, Japan - Nissan comfirmed that Jose Muñoz, Nissan's chief performance officer and head of its China operations, has resigned.

From 2014 to January 2018, Mr. Muñoz served as Chairman of Nissan North America (NNA), overseeing operations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

In 2009, just five years after joining Nissan, Mr. Muñoz was named President of Nissan Mexicana.

In April 2012, Mr. Muñoz became responsible for sales and marketing for Latin America and customer quality and dealer network development for the Americas.

Prior to joining Nissan, he worked in various management positions with other automotive companies in Europe.

Mr. Muñoz speaks Spanish, English, and French.

Mr. Muñoz holds a Doctorate in nuclear engineering from Polytechnic University of Madrid and an MBA from Instituto de Empresa Business School in Madrid.
