Juliska was founded in 2001 with a small collection of Bohemian glasses and now they make hundreds of tableware products.

A bump here, an extra wash of glaze, no two Juliska products are identical. Bohemian glass motifs date back to the 14th century. Using principles of Venetian glassblowing, medieval artisans applied raised motifs on the glass that provided traction on the slippery drinking vessels. Juliska worked with a ceramic technician in Portugal to develop a unique, transparent glazing and hand patinaed finish to replicate the luminosity of the glass with all the durability and practicality required of modern life. You can have a beautiful tableware and then put it all into a dishwasher.
Juliska selected the most durable ceramic on the market, stoneware. It has the highest threshold for oven, microwave and freezer temperatures, and is extremely durable on a regular basis. Juliska worked closely with their ceramic technicians to develop a formula for their stoneware that is light and thin and appropriate for tableware. And you can see all their products in their store on King Street, Charleston, SC, which serves as an inspiration for entertaining, decorating, and gifting.
There are several Juliska collections but one that maybe represents best their philosophy is the Country Estate Collection. The Conservatory reminds us to spend time with loved ones over al fresco summertime lunches. Their scalloped plate pairs superbly with long conversations and perfumed salads plucked from the herb garden. Or for a solitary respite, spend an afternoon penning sonnets in the Reading Pavilion with a slice of spiced chocolate cake. This collection fits best in a rural home but it will embellish any kitchen style you have.
For more modern minds who want a piece of nature on their tables there is the Bamboo Collection. Bringing a sense of naturalistic glamour to your dinner table, their bamboo five piece setting contains a dinner plate, dessert or salad plate, side or cocktail plate, tea or coffee cup and saucer. Among their numerous collection, the L'Amour Toujours stands out. A collection inspired by French cafés and English countryside picnics, this chic black, white, and blue set features hot air balloons and hearts to symbolize a life filled with romantic adventure. ■
