Flights cancelled in Tehran after heavy snowfall

The flights of Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport were cancelled today because of heavy snowfall in the capital of Iran.

"The horizontal view of the runway has been reduced to 500 meters at the present time," Mehrabad Aviation Center said in a statement carried by Mehr.

When the standard horizontal view of the runway is reached, the flights can resume and a notice will be issued in this regard, the statement added.

Tehran has two international airports. Mehrabad Airport is mostly used for domestic flights.
