Huge haul of heroin seized in Poland

The drug had an estimated street value of more than PLN 60 million (EUR 14 million, USD 16 million), Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Interior Minister Mariusz Kamiński said on a news conference yesterday.

He added that the bust by officers from Poland's Central Bureau of Police Investigation (CBŚP), working together with investigators from the country’s tax administration marked another major crackdown on drug smugglers in Poland in recent months.

Interior Minister Mariusz Kamiński said the operation was a “great success” for Polish law enforcement agencies, which he said prevented Europe from being inundated with heroin.
