British Columbia, Canada
Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada hides its jewel. Situated near Tofino, a world UNESCO biosphere reserve and in the heart of the Bedwell River Valley, lies Clayoquot Wilderness Resorts and Spa, surrounded by wilderness and luxury at the same time.
Botanist Buttle discovered gold at Bedwell River Valley and just few years later in 1860s started the first gold rush. Today, walkers still can see the abandoned valley gold mine. Inspired by late 19th century Great Camps, the Wilderness Outpost at Bedwell River offers luxury experience beyond canvas tents. If you never tried a life beyond tents because you are scared of crawly little creatures, now it is the time to look in the eye of a danger. Twenty great white canvas heated tents equipped with private showers, treatment and massage tents, dinning tents, fieldstone fireplace, outdoor lounge and showpiece open kitchen, all together for your comfort and pleasure.
While you are there enjoy in hiking, kayaking and horse riding and if you just must call your mama to describe her some bugs that innocently walked near your tent, use wireless internet access. She'll be certainly glad to hear your excited voice especially if she don't put telephone away.
Central Java, Indonesia
When visiting Java, Indonesia, be prepared for warm, tropical climate which is particularly pleasant from June through September. Even during summer months the temperature can rise to 40 Celsius, and 22 Celsius is an average tropical summer temperature. Wet season just ended and if you are prepared for rural limestone adventure, Amanjiwo is the spot for you. When you arrive in Amanjiwo you'll be welcomed with shower of rose petals from smiley local village girls nicely dressed in traditional Indonesia's sarongs.
After you are settled, rent a car, or if you wish some more Indonesian "vehicle" try riding Sumatran elephant and explore nearby green rice paddy fields. Distant Merapi and Merbabu are just two of at least 129 active volcanoes in Indonesia, so find local people and listen stories about Merapi and Merbabu. Don't be afraid, like we say here "thunder will not strike in nettles", apostrophising that you are certainly not "the lucky one". Enjoy in Amanjiwo's outside Romanesque amphitheatre style pool built from blocks of tactile Yogya limestone and feel the spirit of exotic Indonesia.
Morocco
"Play it once, Sam. For old times' sake" said Ilsa to Sam. The year is 1942, and the movie is Casablanca. Do you feel romantic these days or your romantic faded away around 2007? Wake up and prepare for travel. This time our destination is not Casablanca but even a better place - Kasbah Tamadot, five-star luxury property in the Atlas Mountains. They probably in Kasbah Tamadot don't have a piano, but they have Morocco spirit, even better landscape and no broken hearts.
Kasbah Tamadot means "soft breeze" on Moroccans Berber language, and that is a good reason to visit the place. Kasbah Tamadot offers 18 guest rooms and suites, gym, spa, heated mountain view pool, heated indoor pool, hammam, sauna, floodlit tennis courts and many, many things that could make you cry of emotions. Put yourself together and enter a restaurant that offers international and African food accompanied with fine wines. To visit local people and learn something about African culture go to Marrakesh also known as "Red City" or "Al Hamra".
Marrakesh is the fourth largest city in Morocco after renowned Casablanca, Rabat and Fes. Maybe you'll find your Ilsa there. ■
