This week: The Nicosia Race Club on Cyprus, a casino in Monte Carlo, and one castle and one village for sale. For the end we lead you to one great party in Dublin.

Article continues below

Every day
Middle East, Cyprus

Horse racing entered in the Olympic Games for the first time in the 7th century BC. Homer and other ancient authors wrote about horseracing in period of Hellenistic. In Cyprus horseracing revived from the end of the 19th century. Today it is a "sport of kings" who participated in them. When Kings of ancient Salamis of Cyprus died, their horses were buried with them. If we managed to attract you, visit The Nicosia Race Club on Cyprus, the only organization authorized to organize horse races in Cyprus. The minimum bet is two euros and the betting unit is one euro. Races are organized on most major holidays, on Sundays and Wednesdays in winter and spring, and on Wednesdays and most Saturdays in the summer and fall. From the death of king Salamis not a single horse was buried with its owner. They all lived happily ever after to a natural death.

Europe, Monaco
If you decide to visit more stylish place for betting, visit Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco. There, if you don't have a luck, you can burry only your account. Charles Garnier, the architect of the opera house in Paris, built Monte Carlo Casino in 1878. Monte Carlo Casino is a palatial venue with a marble atrium and gaming rooms decorated with frescoes inspired by Monaco countryside. It is filled with sculptures, monumental chandeliers in bohemian crystal, stained glass windows, paintings of famous courtesans and mahogany engraved with gold. If your destiny is to lose the money, let's lose it with style. You can always fly to Cyprus, rent a horse whisperer (Robert Redford has a good references) and play again on safe. For a dollar or more.

Europe, France
Spen the surplus of the money on four star castle hotel in France which is on the sale at the moment. Cote de Vichy castle is built 130 years ago in Ducs de Bavieres style and it is restored as a hotel. It has 2400 square metres on 4 levels, keeper's house of 250 square metres, a horse building of 1500 square metres on 2 levels (coincidence?), a orangerie of 250 square metres, a recent house of 350 square metres, a swimming pool (17m x 10m), two tennis courts, and two helicopters landings. Add to that the whole furnished style Louis-Philippe, a thermal water source and three prehistorically caves (not yet commercialised), a source water with a very high flow... You can rearrange it like a health centre, a retirement place, a natural mineral gas water production place or something else. The price is 9 million US dollars. It all sounds very interesting. I mean the description.

Europe, Finland
An unbelievable news comes from the North Pole - Santa Claus' Village is for sale. North Pole Realty Inc. wrote that the property is not measurable in the traditional sense of the word (sic) but it is a remarkable opportunity for a lucky investor. Yes, why not, sale the Christmas, too. The fact that property sitting in an ice floor in the middle of the Arctic Ocean don't embarrassing the sellers. In an interview with a local newspaper, Santa said he is selling the property because he is "sick and tired of being portrayed in the media as a fat fool with a beard that lives on milk and cookies." Mrs. Claus said that he had enough of seeing him with half naked girls wearing red stocking draped all over him." Maybe Santa changed his sexual orientation. (I must erase this picture from the head immediately). Anyway, right or wrong information, Santa lost his charm in my eyes. If you are interested in buying fully fitted elves workshop, accommodation for up to 1500 elves plus families, full reindeer team and sled, pool, Swedish sauna and panic room (better and better), contact NP Realty The North Pole HOH OHO. Very funny.

March 13 - 17, 2008
Europe, Ireland

Still, I need one great celebration (drink?) to get back to myself. Thanks to St. Patrick, from March 13 - 17 everyone feel Irish, Croatians too, so I can draw my sorrow almost invisible. Those are days of celebrating St. Patrick, one of the patron saints of Ireland. The biggest parade starts March 17, but from March 13 Irish's people and all who celebrate Guinn.., sorry who celebrate St. Paddy's Day, enjoy in five days of good entertainment. Green or orange clothes are part of this event, just like a beer. Gallons of beer to be specific. Although St. Patrick's Day is celebrated worldwide by Irish people and increasingly by non-Irish people, treat yourself with the journey to Dublin and be a part of the true parade on Irish way.
